Marble Cake
This was one of cake my mom loved to bake when i was growing up . I remember she used to let me lick the leftover chocolate batter from the whisk . I think everyone had this experience when we were younger . I even let my child did the same thing when he was little too .
The cake is moist , and it was always fun doing the swirl thing to create the marble effect . Ingredients here are nothing special , pretty much everything you have on hand , especially if you love baking .
The ingredients listed self rising flour , if you don’t have it on hand , you can always make your own self rising flour .
Ingredients :
- 225 g self rising flour , sifted
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 170 g sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 sticks of unsalted butter
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
Cream the butter , add sugar a little at a time , mix until butter is light color . Add the eggs , one by one , scrape the side if you need to . Add in the milk and almond extract . Fold the dry ingredients with spatula .
Divide half and half , add the cocoa powder to one of them , and mix with spatula .
Grease 5×8 loaf pan , line with parchment paper and sprinkle with flour , pour the yellow batter into the pan . Add the chocolate powder in on top , use the toothpick to make swirl in the batter . Bake at 350 F , for 1 hour or so . Check with toothpick to make sure it’s done
